BRAINSPOTTING

Brainspotting

What is brainspotting?

Brainspotting is a therapeutic approach that helps people process and release "stuck" memories and emotions.  Imagine your brain is like a complex computer that stores all your memories, thoughts, and emotions. Sometimes when we experience difficult or traumatic events in our lives, thee memories can get stuck in our brain and continue to affect us, causing emotional distress or other issues. Brainspotting involves focusing on a specific point in your field of vision that corresponds to the issue you are dealing with. This point, called a "brainspot", helps access and process the deep brain areas where these memories and emotions are stored. During brainspotting, a therapist will guide you through the process to help release the emotional charge associated with the memories, leading to healing and a sense of relief.   For more information, please contact the practice.
